Story
It’s rapidly approaching the time of year that we all love and look forward to. It’s so exciting in the approach to Christmas to see the twinkling lights in the streets and to be tucking into hot chocolates, mulled wine and other treats with our loved ones.
It’s also a time when we start to think of those who aren’t fortunate enough to be experiencing the joy we experience at Christmas. Some people don’t have any family to share this special time with, or even a home in which to rest their head.
Crisis is a fantastic charity who for the sum of £22.32 offer a homeless person…..
ONE PLACE AT CRISIS AT CHRISTMAS AND PROVIDES...
Welcoming support from people who really care
A chance to shower, freshen up and get clean clothes
Three nutritious hot meals including Christmas dinner
A health check and treatment from a doctor, optician and dentist
An introduction to Crisis’ year-round services for training and support for the future
If there’s ever a time to support those less fortunate than ourselves, we believe this is it. And why, when supporting them, don’t we take the opportunity to not only teach our children about the world but also have fun!
This year at Little Forest Folk, in lieu of Stir-it-up Sunday, we are holding a Stir-it-up Sunday-to-Sunday. From November 20th to 27th we will be making vast batches of mincemeat in Wimbledon, Chiswick and Fulham.
We look forward to measuring, weighing and most importantly, ensuring that every little hand of our amazing children has a stir of the mincemeat for luck.
We will carefully measure out the mincemeat into jars and will be selling them to parents and the general public. Anyone who wants to support our campaign will be gladly welcomed!
A jar of our made-with-teeny-tiny-hands-and-love mincemeat will sell for £10 with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Crisis. For every 2 jars sold Little Forest Folk will give the additional £2.32 to provide one place for a homeless person at Crisis.
There may even be a little treat of the BEST recipe for a mincemeat cupcake you have ever tried included. Even people who don’t like mince pies love this tasty recipe.
Make sure you add your name to the donation so we know to reserve you a jar of our finest!
