Story
In 2015 Chris and I were mentored by Monty Don to transform our garden into a Victorian tropical paradise with colour from dahlias and other unusual flowers and foliage. With collections of various oddities including the unusual fern family, with a living wall of over fifty different species. We also completely renovated our ground floor flat making it an open garden flat.
We are joined by Rosanna Falconer who has so kindly offered to provide the teas and cakes for our open days, bringing a delicious extra to the event in the form of her wonderful cake sale. On our first open day her home made cakes (all baked by her own hands!) were a real highlight - in fact, the stars of the show!
This time we are going bigger and better with Fortnum & Mason donating jams for scones. We'll have 149 succulents donated to us for sale, plus other cool houseplants. Plus over 30 different cultivars of the fashionable Dahlia on display from my allotment and in the garden. We're also selling some indoor and outdoor plants, including 149 donated beautiful home grown succulents to help raise more money.
If you can't make it or can and would just like to donate a bit more, you can do so here with all monies going to the incredible National Garden Scheme charity. They work to distribute funds to nine care charities like Hospice UK, MacMillan and Alzheimers UK - all incredibly worthy causes.
Take part and please come along for a short time, all are welcome - have some cake, a warming tea or coffee and perhaps even take home a special and rare plant.
Who said flowers and cakes can't change lives?!
