We work with abandoned dogs in Romania to save them from cruelty & persecution.

Story

Walking the Kiltwalk together to raise money for our rescue centre in Romania

So, you may have guessed that with Bob passing away, his beloved dog, Briar, needed a home...

And of course, the perfect home was with me, we have always adored each other, there was no way I could rehome him.

Only problem with that plan being, Gary has never been a dog person, at all, nope, puppy dog eyes did nit work on him at all!....

Until he met a Barking Mad Dog Rescue Dog, Cally.

During lockdown, when Eleanor was working so hard, her dogs came to us for daycare, which Gary tolerated, as it gave us something to focus on. He had grown vaguely ok with Ginny over the last few years, but this wild, escapologist that barked at everything that moved, especially him? Hmmm... not sure....

Cally didn't like men, definitely not big men. This was going to be tough.

But slowly, Gary figured her out, what her triggers were, how to move around without scaring her, and eventually, the impossible happened, Gary and Cally fell in love 🥰

She sticks to him like glue, she snuggles up with him, they have a bond like no other...

Which meant that when I faced losing the last bit of Mum and Bob, his heart was already melted, ready for this big lovable lummox to join the family for good!
