Story
On Sunday 8th July 2012 I am running the British 10K London Run in memory of my dad, which would of been his 65th Birthday, and for the future of my daughter Megan and the thousands of others who have Diabetes Type 1 and Type 2.
Diabetes UK, which some of you know is very close to my heart, my daughter Megan was diagnosed with Diabetes Type 1 when she was just 5 years old. My my dad also had Diabetes Type 1, he was diagnosed when he was 21, but sadly passed away in January of this year from Diabetes related illnesses and other complications.
Diabetes touches the lives of over two million people in the UK - if you aren't directly affected by the condition, you probably know someone who is. It is so important that the charity gets the funding it needs to carry out the vital research for a future without diabetes, whilst still helping children and adults to manage their diabetes today. With your help, as well as finding cures they can continue to provide invaluable services such as support holidays for children and families, and the Diabetes UK Careline, which all provide information and emotional support for people living with diabetes. Your donation will help Diabetes UK continue their research into the causes of diabetes, and our work to prevent and, one day, cure the condition. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Your donation is greatly appreciated, remember every penny counts, so please sponsor me!! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page Thank You Lisa x |
