Over two years ago, my little girl Lucy lost her hearing due to suspected meningitis. During this difficult time, we found understanding and support by deaf charities on how best to support Lucy and help her reach her full potential. 

We will always be indebted to the deaf community for helping us through our emotional journey. I am now using my experience, as a parent of a deaf child, in my new role as The Family Support Worker for West Scotland Deaf Children’s Society.
