In March 2006 our lives changed forever. Our 5 yr old daughter Charlotte Rose was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma stage 4 an aggressive childhood cancer . She had to endure chemotherapy, major surgery which involved the removal of her left kidney , many blood & platelet transfusions and stem cell transplant & high dose chemotherapy which involved being in isolation for weeks.
Charlotte Rose took everything in her stride she was so brave & didn't complain about how poorly she was feeling. Charlotte Rose fought this devastating disease for 9 months on 18th December 2006 she passed away peacefully in my arms.
I miss her every minute of every day she was my beautiful princess that should have had the chance to have a life. She was the most beautiful, brave , courageous little girl I have ever known and she is my inspiration and my strength to keep going and to help in some way to raise funds to find a cure for this devastating disease so that other children & families can have a long & healthy life together.
So this year I am taking part in Race for life 5 km in June, 10 km in July and then the Race for life Half marathon in October. I would like to raise as much as possible to help others fight this devastating disease!
