Story
As part of the Freshfield's (my employer) commitment to the work of charity Habitat for Humanity in Ghana, West Africa, I am going to spend a week (21-29 June) building housing for local families in Ghana.
In many villages in Ghana, mud houses which once provided shelter for the extended family are crumbling. Poor drainage systems combined with heavy torrential rains destroy mud foundations. The walls collapse and roofs cave in, sometimes with fatal consequences. The families which continue occupying these houses live under crowded conditions with its associated health implications. Our support for the new Habitat sustainable housing fund should have the great effect, as it is designed to enable the charity to develop more environmentally-friendly low-cost housing that reflects local needs and traditions in its house builds around the world.
Donating online through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Habitat for Humanity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
