Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
This September, I’m raising money by walking a 26 mile Night Walk to help Cancer Research UK beat lung cancer sooner.
Lung Cancer is the most difficult type of cancer to treat as it's not usually picked up until the very late stages - it is also the most common cause of cancer death in the UK with 35,200 claimed of the disease each year with only 9% of people diagnosed living up to 5 years after diagnosis.
My Mum was only 58 and was fit, healthy and most scarily - had no symptoms whatsoever. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on 24th June this year. The only reason it was found was due to a secondary tumour causing a break in her back and she sadly passed away on 3rd August.
Something she wanted to do if she got better was to do more for Cancer Research, so I am now doing it in memory and for, my much missed Mum and I hope you will help me in raising money to help fund scientists and doctors in finding better ways to detect lung cancer earlier, and developing new treatments that are much more effective.
Please dig deep and sponsor me. Every pound you donate will help fund life-saving work.
