The Tour 21 will see a team of amateur cyclists ride all 21 stages of the 2023 Tour de France, one week ahead of the professionals - with the aim of raising £1m for Cure Leukaemia.

Story

Thank you for visiting my page.

In June 2023, I will be riding all 21 stages of the Tour de France to raise £1m for Cure Leukaemia, a charity which supports pioneering blood cancer clinical trials that connects patients with potentially life-saving treatments.

I will be riding alongside 24 other amateur cyclists in one of the world's most gruelling sporting challenges. Starting in Bilbao, we will each cover 3,400km and climb over 30,000 metres, one week ahead of the pros, finishing on the Champs-Élysées in Paris.

2023 will be the 20th anniversary of my Dad being diagnosed with blood cancer, passing away in 2005 after several years of treatment. My elder sister was then diagnosed with cancer a few years later after having worked as a nurse for over 30 years, losing her battle in 2010.

Cycling has been a key part of coping with the way cancer has affected my family and the Tour 21 is an opportunity to help give back and bring a cure closer. I am personally covering 100% of the cost of my participation so that every penny I raise will go to Cure Leukaemia.

I’ll be doing lots of different things to raise money over the coming months and I thank you for your support. I can't do this without you.

Cure Leukaemia fund research nurses at 15 hospitals across the UK. These roles form the Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) network giving patients, from a catchment area of 30m, access to potentially life-saving treatments through clinical trials, with plans to fund a paediatric network on the way.
