Ladies’ Midnight Walk - Friday 17th June!!! - http://www.stlukes-hospice.org/events/Midnight+Walk
This year Margaret very sadly lost one of her best friends Phil to cancer, Phil’s last days were spent being cared for in St. Luke’s Hospice. I know how much this place meant to friends and family during this difficult time - St Luke’s is the local hospice for Harrow and Brent. They care for people whose illnesses are no longer curable, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life during the final stages of their illness.
They care for patients through their in-patient unit, out-patient clinics, and day care unit, as well as in peoples own homes through the Hospice at Home and Community Palliative Care Teams.
Coming to terms with a serious illness can be difficult and distressing. Everyone in the family, including friends can be affected, so the hospice and its staff and volunteers provide a warm, friendly and supportive environment in which everyone feels welcome.
They are proud to offer all of their services free of charge and because of this they rely on the generosity of the community for over 75% of funding and the work they do can only continue with the support of the people, companies and organisations that give their time and money to fundraise.
So, on Friday June 17th 2011, at Midnight, I shall be joining Margaret and some of Phil’s friends and family (along with over 1000 other women) in taking part in a 9 mile Midnight walk in Harrow to raise money for the hospice. – (The walk takes approximately 2.5 hours for a fit walker....so bit longer for me, haahaa, especially at midnight)!!!
The Midnight Walk 2010 raised over £180K – so please help us do the same in 2011 and raise vital funds for Harrow and Brent’s local hospice.
I would be so grateful if you could sponsor me for this walk, no matter how big or small, every penny counts!!
Thank you
Love Lisa
