I am running the Great Manchester 10k on Sunday 15th May.  I am running for Kidney Research UK in memory of my dad, Joe, who had a kidney transplant 33 years ago when I was just a few months old.  That kidney transplant meant that me and my brothers and sisters had a dad for another 16 years.  I am also running for my brother and nephews who also have chronic kidney disease. The advances in research and medicine means that they have a much better chance of having a long and healthy life.  I also have kidney disease, but the expertise of my doctors has helped me have two beautiful children, who are so far, free from any problems.
