Story
Hi all, I'm running the 2023 London Marathon in memory of my husband David - who most of you probably knew as Mojo, life of the party and the centre of our world. David passed away 17th June 2022, only age 60, very unexpectedly and suddenly. Afterwards we found out that despite having multiple ECG’s weeks prior to his death that he had LVH (Left Ventricular Hypertrophy) and AV heart block meaning his blood couldn’t get to his heart and the electrical impulses that tell the heart to beat were delayed and stopped leading to his cardiac arrest which happened instantly. Had this been identified correctly, he would still be here today. We were married for 39 years and the loss has been unimaginable - thankfully I will also be running the marathon alongside my daughter, Claudia -so please also visit her page if you can as we are entering as separate fundraisers. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives, like David. BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures - one which I wish David could have had. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. I’m aware the target is high however it’s the pledge set by BHF to run the marathon, so literally every contribution helps massively. David was there on the finish line on my last marathon, and I’m sure he will be when we cross the line on this one, love and miss you so much.
