Story
It's been a hell of a start to the year. A year that has brought the pain of loss at a level I have never felt before. My brother loved to walk and there is no better way to clear the mind than to get out into the countryside and stretch your legs. To do something you love at a new challenging level for a good cause can help towards healing the heart and mind.
The Challenge
To walk 29 miles in one day.
A beautiful circular walk from the pretty village of Hartington in the Peak District. The route winds through some of the best scenery in the UK, the old Leek and Manifold Light Railway along the Manifold Valley before returning via spectacular Dovedale, Biggin Dale and the Tissington Trail, before returning to Hartington via Pilsbury Castle.
The Charity
The Television Workshop
The BAFTA award winning drama group and casting resource has its home in the centre of Nottingham and relies solely on external funding to keep it running.
The charity trains young people between the ages of 7 and 21 in all aspects of performance for television, film, radio and stage, with a particular focus on providing opportunities for aspiring young actors and actresses from less fortunate backgrounds. The organisation has many famous names among its alumni, including Vicky McClure, Bella Ramsey and Jack O'Connell.
