Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Laila and I (Lisa) have decided to take on an challenge and walk the 95 miles of the West Highland Way.
This is a famous walking route up the west coast of Scotland. The 154Km (96miles) over 5 days starts at Milngavie and passes through Mugdock Country Park, follows the shores of Loch Lomond, passing Ben Lomond, through Glen Falloch and Strathfillan, crossing Rannoch Moor, past Buachaille Etive Mor to the head of Glencoe, climbing the Devil’s Staircase, descending to sea level to cross the River Leven at the head of Loch Leven before entering Lairigmor and Glen Nevis and finishes at Gordon Square in Fort William.
The charity we are doing this challenge for is PKAVS (Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service). They are a fabulous local charity helping 5000 local people through various community based activities.
So! Why do we need your help...
1. PKAVS has to raise nearly £0.5million this year to sustain its current services, which help over 5,000 local people every year. It's a massive task but every pound takes us closer.
2. A donation of just £7 will provide one whole day of support at PKAVS Mental Wellbeing Services, where adults with enduring mental illness can learn new skills in cooking, customer service, gardening, arts & crafts and joinery.
3. A donation of £10 will help a 5-year-old young carer access respite from their caring role at home - a rare chance to be a child first and a carer second.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
For us 2 non walkers this is an epic challenge and it will be a miracle if we make it but your donations and the good cause we are doing it for will spur us on.
So please dig deep and donate now.
