Last year an incredible 2000 women took part in the Midnight Walk and raised £280,000.00 for St Luke's Hospice. This year Lisa and I will be joining them for a 13 mile walk through Plymouth, starting at Midnight. We won't be stopping in any pubs along the way, honest!

All joking aside, St Luke's is a charity close to both our, and our families hearts. St Luke's is dedicated to providing highly specialised palliative and end of life care for patients who have terminal or life-limiting illnesses. They also provide support to families and loved ones of patients.

Today, as part of St Luke's Services, the Hospice cares for more than two thousand people each year from across Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall.

It is their vision to help their patients achieve the best possible quality of life by giving them dignity and choice at a time in their lives when they may feel they have none.  Their ethos is simple:

‘You matter because you are you. You matter to the last moment of your life, and we will do all we can to help you not only to die peacefully, but also to live until you die’

The Hospice costs more than £5 million each year to run. Government funding is extremely limited so each year at least £3.5m must be raised within the local community.

So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
