We fund essential medical research to find a cure for Lymphangioleiomyomatosis

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you may be aware I was diagnosed with lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM for short!) in April 2012

This is a progressive rare disease that effects women. LAM mainly affects the lungs, where it results in progressive destruction of healthy lung tissue.

Lung capacity progressively declines sometimes resulting in the need for supplementary oxygen and potentially lung transplants.

In order to help fund research into this distressing disease I have decided to join the Race for LAM and will attempt to run (although I will also have to walk!) 10km.

Anything you are able to donate, no matter how small, is very gratefully appreciated

Many thanks

Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) is a rare lung disease that only occurs in women. It affects just over one woman in a million. We are a self-help group providing support for patients with LAM and raise money for vital research - it is often difficult to obtain money for research into a rare disease.
