Story
Hi........me again! Its that time of year where I celebrate another year clear, dust off those trainers and raise a bit of money at my favorite annual event here in Sheffield.......the 10k
I am fortunate this year to be part of The University of Sheffield 10K team which is supporting the Sheffield Scanner appeal.
More information about the Sheffield Scanner can be found at www.sheffield.ac.uk/sheffieldscanner
MRI-PET is the most powerful imaging technology currently available and this facility would transform our research by increasing our understanding of the causes, effects and development of many kinds of disease, including Alzheimer’s, Cancer, Heart and lung diseases, Motor Neurone Disease and Stroke.
The MRI-PET Facility would be located at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital on the central University campus, ideal for both direct clinical use and for research programmes. This would be the first MRI-PET Facility in Yorkshire and a vital investment in the health of people in this region, across the UK and beyond.
On Sunday 24 September 2017 thousands of runners will descend on the city’s streets to take part in the Asda Foundation Sheffield 10K. This much-talked about event starts in Arundel Gate in the heart of the city and takes runners on a journey along Charter Row and along Ecclesall Road, before skirting the edges of pretty Endcliffe Park. It continues along Riverdale Road, along Endcliffe Vale Road, past the Endcliffe Village, then travels down Brocco Bank and back to an exhilarating city centre finish.
So please donate to this fantastic cause which will have a terrific impact for everyone in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond.
