On Christmas Day 2016 Little Miss Rea Haf Reynolds will be 20 weeks old. Which means she will have been in hospital for 20 weeks too. In this time our little warrior princess has had 3 visits to theatre, 4 blood transfusions, chest x-rays galore, CT scans, countless cannulas, too many blood tests to remember and 2 'neonatal haircuts'..... and through it all she continues to give the BEST smiles! As a family we have been on the biggest emotional rollercoaster of our lives. As Rea's Mummy - I can not put into words the love and admiration I have for my girlie.......she will forever be my mini hero! 

So far Rea has spent 123 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UHW Cardiff. The care that she receives is outstanding. To her this place is her home at the moment. She loves nothing more than watching the world go by from her bouncer! Everyone in the unit knows her, everyone comes to talk to her and I know that she is very much loved by everyone! Every night when I kiss my girlie goodnight I can leave with a little less of a heavy heart knowing that all of these people that love her will be there for her when we can't be. The nurses, healthcare assistants, receptionists, ward managers, doctors, sisters, consultants, housekeepers, student nurses.... are all out of this world and in our eyes heroes. We will be forever grateful to all of these NHS angels who have been in Rea's life so far and who will no doubt continue to be a part of her life throughout her recovery, aftercare and endless outpatient appointments!  

In the hope of giving a little back..... we would like to try to raise as much money as we possibly can for the new Neonatal Unit so that even more babies and their families can receive the incredible care that we have. 

We will be braving the cold waters at Coney Beach, Porthcawl for the Annual Christmas Day Swim. And hoping there will be a heatwave!!☀️
