Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
"Never again" we said when we completed the Nottingham half a couple of years ago......."Oh maybe just one more then" we said as the year went on...
Both myself (Lisa) and Hayley were successful in gaining a place in this years Great North Run, so we have decided we would like to run for the Alzheimer's Society due to family members being diagnosed with Alzheimer's/Dementia.
My Dad (Lisa's), his brothers and sister have been diagnosed with Alzheimers/Dementia. They are in early stages and still living with loved ones, but very sadly, last year my Dad's oldest brother, my Uncle Den, lost his battle to dementia. This was devastating to us all. Hence Hayley and I are running in his memory.
As you know or can imagine this is a horrible illness, to see someone you love slowly taken over by this awful illness, so any donation you make will be going forward to helping the Alzheimer's Society research into the cause, cure, care & prevention of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. to improve treatment for people today and search for a cure tomorrow.
