Hi Everyone! You might remember I ran the GMFR last year and completed the 8.5 mile run in 1 hour and 31 mins. I haven't competed in a run since, so i've decided to run the GMFR again this year on the 1st June where I intend to beat my time from last year.
For those of you who don't know, I am running for John Taylor Hospice (League of Friends) for the fantastic palliative care they provide - a very worthy cause indeed.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored me last year - i'd like to raise money again this year so I would love it if you sponsored me - all donations gratefully received!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For those of you who don't know my story...
I returned from travelling in Jan 2008 to be told by doctors that my mum (Anne Joyce) had cancer of the fallopian tube. From that moment on, our lives changed forever. In April 2010 mum's condition took a turn for the worse and had to be taken in to John Taylor Hospice where she received palliative care for a number of weeks.
We managed to get her home for a short time but before long she was back in hospital and then back to John Taylor. As the youngest in my family, it was hard knowing mum would not make it to our wedding in 2011, let alone know she wouldnt be there day to day for the simplest of things, like she always was.
In the last remaining weeks of mum's life we had very little hope but what we did have was peace of mind that mum was receiving the best care that we/she could hope for. we would not leave mum's side for the last 2 weeks of her life and during this time, the nurses at John Taylor not only took good care of mum but of us as well.
Mum finally lost her battle on the 13th July 2010 and since that day I vowed to take part in a charity event to raise money to support them in the hope they would be able to keep up the good work. As you know, this is now my second year of fundraising.
I know none of my efforts will bring mum back but at times when i'm really struggling, I will be thinking of her and how she would have done anything to be able to stand up near the end, let alone run. So, please if you can donate any amount towards this very worthy organisation, I would be very grateful and I know this will be too.
Thank you
