Story

From me, Lisa Mullineux
I’m the worlds best dancer when inebriated, as for ballroom I have not got a clue!  I’ve known my dance partner Gary for a number of years socially as we both enjoy sailing and are ‘sort of’ family, he kindly agreed to step in at the 11th hour as my boyfriend is having a major operation on his back.  I’ve known Deborah for a number of years, she even married me (sorry that was a fail Deborah :)) she’s an inspirational woman and will be driven to raise funds for Bury Hospice following her beloved husbands John passing there.  Alison Kerr is passing me the baton from last year to take part in Strictly, I am personally very keen to support the hospice wherever I can in memory of my friend Angela Bigland as a thank you from me, Angela’s husband Ian and son Alfie, family, friends.  I will be always be bowled away by the warmth, comfort, care and treatment and humour of the team.

Gary Cleary
Sharon (my wife) said when Lisa asked me if I would step in as her dance partner “you should give it a go” so I said yes!!  Four days later and we had our first lesson at A Touch of Class in Little Lever.  I am from dancing stock, my parents met in a ballroom and have been dancing all their lives, so I thought why not, I’m game for most things!  Now understanding more about the reason behind it all I’d like to support a great cause.  It is a challenge so far but as the weeks progress we’re beginning to enjoy it through the frustration of toe stepping, roll on 1st December
