Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Ever since my brother Chris completed the London Marathon in 2000, it has been my one dream to complete it myself.
In 2011, my now 9 year old son Joseph was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome, Which comes under the Autism umbrella. This was the incentitive I needed to kick start my dream and at the same time doing it for a good cause. The NAS (National Autistic Society) have helped me to come to terms with Joseph's condition - through parent training course's, leaflets/booklets and the internet. So this is my way of saying 'thank you' to them for all they have done and continue to do.Not just for me and my family, but for all the other families out there with child that have Autism.
Your donation will help NAS continue to support families like ours by providing invaluable information & training courses. And help us and our children lead as normal life as possible..
I'm not a natural born runner, so I know the training is going to be very intense and extremely hard- both physically and mentally. But I'm determined to succeed. Joseph faces challenges every day and succeeds-so if he can do it- so can I !!!
I can truly say "I'm a very proud Mum of a son with Autism".
So, on 21st April 2013 I want Joseph and the rest of my family to be proud of me when I cross that finishing line after 26.2 miles.
Thank you for your support, I'll try and keep you updated with my training progress.
