Story
Thank you for visiting my Just Giving Page. I’m raising money towards the cost of treatment for my sister who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. She has now started 18 weeks of chemotherapy treatment at a cost of up to £10,000 for each round. My sister is the kindest person who always helps those in need. I want to show her the love back and one of the ways I can help is by raising funds to cover her chemotherapy treatment. In order to do this my husband Gary and I are taking on the challenge of the notorious Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon which includes;
- Jumping off a ferry for a 1.5-mile swim in shark infested icy cold water in extremely strong currents
- Cycling an18 mile route around the city of San Francisco, famous for its steep hills
- Running 8 miles of tough multi terrain and climbing a 400-step sand ladder
I'm terrified of sharks and whales. I can’t even jump into a pool usually, let alone dive off a ferry into icy waters. However, it’s nothing in comparison to the pain of seeing my sister suffering and the fear of losing a loved one. We hope you can support our fundraiser by donating whatever you can afford. Thank you.
