Story
Hello,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am organising a climb up Ben Nevis on the 22nd of June to raise money for Mary's Meals. The goal is to fundraise enough money to help build a kitchen in memory of a dear friend, Mark McFarlane-Barrow.
The average cost of building and equipping a school kitchen to provide pupils with a daily meal in Malawi is £7000. When the £7000 target is met, a school will be allocated and a sign in memory of Mark will be put up at the allocated kitchen. We will receive photos of the sign at the school - a lovely reward for a lot of hard fundraising work.
At the moment, we have over 30 people who have signed up to be a part of this climb and who are all willing to raise as much money as possible. We even have children as young as 8, who are the real campaigners, by getting their mum, dad and friends on board. Well done kids!
So a little bit about the charity. Mary's Meals has become knows as 'the charity that operates out of a tin shed' and has low running costs. For every £1 you donate, they are committed to spending no more that 6p on fundraising and 1p on governance, leaving 93p to spend on charitable activities. The key to this is by keeping their running costs at a minimum so that as much as possible of your donation reaches those in need.
It costs just £10.70 to feed a child for a whole school year so please be generous and help us achieve our dream.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
