Fundraising for Myeloma UK
Hello,
Thank you for visiting my page. I am fundraising for myeloma U.K.
Myeloma is close to my heart and something I had never heard of until the day my partner Alun was rushed to hospital unable to walk, to be told he had 2 spinal cord compressions and he had myeloma, cancer of his bone marrow. Alun was 49 year old, extremely fit, cycled and trained daily, looks after himself, over a period of 8 months and lots of gp appointments which told him he had sciatica, pulled muscles ect, one final straw was he stood up and was unable to move. Alun has a partner and 4 children aswell as 3 grandchildren and I want to do all I can to support a charity who works so hard to find new treatments and constantly have new trails with a hope to find a cure for myeloma.
This form of blood cancer has no cure currently however treatments are fantastic if and when they work however due to the nature of myeloma this is a relapsing condition and will relapse at some point even after treatment. Our world has been totally shattered and I would like to do as much as possible to raise funds to find a cure for myeloma. Alun couldn’t walk when he was diagnosed and although is nowhere where he needs to be to enable him to get a stem cell transplant which is the best chance of a period of remisssion. He is a million miles from where he started and makes me burst with pride daily.
Any donations to enable me to do this dive are appreciated, I have to raise £450 to enable to to complete the dive and contribute to the charity so please support.
I will be doing a number of raffles and auctions over the coming months and costs can come through this page.
Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. Our ultimate goal is to find a cure.We are dedicated to myeloma patients making sure they get access to the right treatment at the right time. We continually strive to improve standards of treatment and care through research, education and raising awareness of myeloma. We receive no Government funding and rely almost entirely on voluntary donations and fundraising. In short, we couldnt do what we do without your support.
Thank you for taking time to read.
