Story

My brother lost his life in November last year because his kidneys failed, he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was just 4 years old and by the age of 37 his kidneys started to fail, he tried 2 types of dialysis but they both made him really poorly as his body was so damaged so he took the brave decision to stop the dialysis and live the rest of his life the best he could. In October last year we were told he had 2-4 weeks to live.....he fought and lived for 5 weeks. For 5 weeks we cared for my brother Kevin, words can't explain what goes on caring for a dying person but he was so brave and he shared his strength, it's mentally and physically the hardest thing a person and family can go through. On 8th November last year at 4.10pm my brother took his last breath and lost his battle.

I really miss my brother so much, not a day goes by that I don't think of him, I told him before he died that I was going to run the great North run for him and I would really like to raise as much money as possible for a charity that is so close to my heart knowing that they help people like my brother.
