Story
I'm taking part in Independent Arts 70 Mile May challenge this year to raise money for an Island charity supporting isolated and vulnerable people of all ages.
Through the charity's incredibly high quality arts based programmes, people who are lonely or who are living with mental health issues can join groups involved with singing, dancing, crafting and all manner of creative activities.
Always welcomed, always looked after, always supported.
I lead the charity by example. The funds raised will not be paying my salary or anyone else's! We do have paid staff and we also pay our arts practitioners, who are paid through funding applications we make to Trusts & Foundations. The money raised here will help us fund the things that grants won't fund, such as increased heating costs, top quality materials and many other ‘boring necessities’ that make our programmes vibrant, comforting and fun.
Throughout the month of May I will be walking at least 70 miles, the equivalent of the Isle of Wight's costal paths, join me!
