Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was asked by a friend to join her in this walk & did not hesitate to get involved in something that can do so much good, whilst providing a personal challenge, both physically & mentally. I have always loved walking, especially with the babies when they were in their prams & now with the dog but would love to go that step further (pardon the pun!). This is a 24 mile HACK (Hike Against Cruelty to Kids) across the Yorkshire Dales, organised because the NSPCC needs our help to ensure they are there to support all children when they need someone to turn to. With current funding the NSPCC can only answer two thirds of the 2.3 million calls received from children each year and three quarters of the calls received from adults concerned about the welfare of a child or infants too young to speak for themselves. Every engaged tone may put a child's safety at risk.

Consider these startling statistics :
- Every ten days in England and Wales one child is killed at the hands of their parent
- The people most likely to suffer a violent death are babies less than one year old
- There are 32,000 children in the UK who are at risk of serious abuse and neglect RIGHT NOW
