**OUR NEXT RACE: The London Landmarks Half Marathon on 03 April 2022!!**

As a stroke survivor and ex-nurse, I realise how devastating stroke can be, and count myself extremely fortunate to have made an excellent recovery and to have had such amazing support from those closest to me.  Others are not so lucky, and require a great deal of assistance in their post-stroke lives, and may not have the vital support network around them.

Different Strokes is a wonderful charity which provides this much needed support.  Even better, that support is provided to young stroke survivors and their families by other stroke survivors and their families.  This comes in the form of support groups, counselling, information and resources, befriending and vital research, all delivered in formats appropriate and readily accessible to younger survivors, because stroke can affect ALL ages, sadly including babies and young children.

Davina and I ran our own 'Virtual London Landmarks Half Marathon' on the original date: Sunday 23 May 2021. We also ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon on the new date (01 August), and will be running it again in 2022 - all in support of Different Strokes. We also ran the Great South Run for the charity on 17 October 2021!

It's a tough time for everyone, and charities are really suffering right now as so many fundraising events have been casualties of this bloomin' pandemic, but I'm hoping we can do them proud and help them out just a little, as they have helped so many others.
