Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A year ago, we received the devastating news that my gorgeous cousin, 32 years of age, 7 months pregnant, had been diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a very scary time for us all but most of all for her. Here's what she said about the ordeal back in Oct '12;
On 30th May 2012 I was induced eight weeks early - I gave birth to my beautiful boy Milo. Two weeks later - I had a full mastectomy and lymph clearance on the left side. I am currently having 6 cycles of hideous chemotherapy, followed by radiotherapy in the new year.
I am not brave, I'm scared out of my tiny mind. Nothing could prepare me for the mental and physical shit storm of endurance over the last 20 weeks.
I don't want to look at my chances - my statistics. Instead I look at my two wonderful sons, my perfect niece, my incredible family and friends. I pray that the treatment works, and I get a second chance to do things properly, to live life and love living.
It can happen to anyone, and it happened to me.
And I'm going to kick its arse cos it's a total bastard.
Stand up to cancer xxx'
Thankfully due to Cancer Research and the technology developed today, Milo is healthy and full of smiles and my cousin, Anoushka, is here with us today (thank GOD). I will be participating in the Shine Marathon Walk in London on the 28th Sept to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Cancer Research for rescuing my cousin through that horrific ordeal. Unfortunately the all clear hasn't been given yet but with your support and sponsorship hopefully many more people in the same position as my cousin, will have the chance to survive and my cousin will be given the all clear soon.
