Story

Most of you knew or have heard of sweet baby Billy bear. He was one of the sweetest cats ever and the papa bear for so many of the kittens that I have fostered. Second Chance did everything in their power to fix that little man. Every time we would fix something, a different part of him would fail. He never would have had 3 happy years on this earth if it were not for SC and all of his friends who helped along the way.

Every year I do this fundraiser so that we can remember our sweet little friend and help so many more kittens. This year has started out with a bang, we already have most of our regular foster homes filled with mama's and their babies! We are going to need more support than usual, this is just the very beginning of "kitten season".

Please consider joining us at the race and maybe even doing a little fundraising of your own! It is amazing how willing people are to help and give and make a difference if you just ask!

Join me in making a difference for the animals of Second Chance Pet Adoptions! Every dollar raised through my participation in Racing for Rescues, their annual 5K run/fun walk, helps to support the stray and abandoned cats and dogs in their care. While some of the animals require extensive medical care, even the healthiest among them will incur routine costs such as food ($15-$40 depending on size), vaccinations ($15-20), and dewormer ($12 to over $50 for very large dogs). Additionally, all of their animals are microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoption, with costs for cats and dogs ranging up to $159. Second Chance also funds the spay/neuter of cats owned or cared for by members of the public, around 400 per year, to take a proactive approach to ending animal homelessness. These are goals I share, and I hope you do, too! Funds donated by my loved ones will allow Second Chance to help even more homeless dogs and cats in our community to find their forever homes! Will you donate?
