As many of you will know, but some may not, my 12 year old daughter Katie was born with hands that don't look like yours and mine and toes that were joined together with a big toe missing. Whilst I consider Katie to be so lucky to only have these things wrong with her and knowing that there are so many other children far worse off than Katie, has motivated me to raise money for this fantastic charity.
We owe so much to Great Ormond Street hospital (GOSH) - I've lost count of how many operations Katie has had but i'd never have believed 11 years ago that her hands or feet would look as good as they do now. We never thought Katie would be able to wear flip-flops or a ring on her finger but she does both, thanks to GOSH.
GOSH work closely with Sparks to research childhood conditions, to find treatments and cures for conditions like Katie's to improve childrens lives and try to prevent other families from going through a similar experience. It is thanks to Sparks that Katie and so many other children have seen improvements and progress that their family could not have imagined when they first found out about their childs condition. Please sponsor me and help me reach my target to raise money for this amazing charity, by completing my first ever marathon!
