Story
For anyone who knows me personally will know that this charity is close to my heart.
I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease in 2017 and it impacted my life massively. I tried so many different medications and treatments to manage my symptoms, however this also caused a lot of side effects. I quickly made my way through most of the medications used to treat IBD patients with limited relief or no success.
In 2019 I became extremely ill and spent a lot of time hospital. In June 2019 I was admitted into hospital for a course of IV steriods to try and reduce inflammation and help with a severe flare up. However my consultant began to realise that my Crohns disease was not being managed by medication alone.
On August 7th 2019 I took control back of my life and decided to make a hard decision to have an operation to remove a large part of damaged intestines. This resulted in me being fitted with a colostomy bag - 'Peloma the Stoma'
Its safe to say it took me a while to come to terms with this operation but without Peloma I wouldn't be who I am today. To celebrate I will be taking part in a 10k walk on Saturday 15th August 2020 to raise money for Crohns Colitis UK. I hope you can help me raise as much money as possible, any donations will be appreciated.
Thank You x
