Story
I will be taking part in the Last Mile Bicycle ride, August 12, 2023.
I have seen firsthand what the funds from the Last Mile Ride
can do to lift the burden in the most difficult and stressful time in people’s lives. The funds primarily provide free services for patients in advanced illness and at the end of life but also provides services in other ways.
In July of 2018, Last Mile Ride helped our family with funeral costs for my step-son Zachary after his unexpected death.
When tragedy hit our family again in 2021, Last Mile Ride also contributed towards funeral costs for my daughter Amanda.
Last Mile Ride’s generosity is humbling and appreciated by
so many and the level of thoughtfulness put into this charity can never be repaid.
Funds raised go directly to support palliative care patients
in unique ways. $25 covers a days’ worth of meals for a family with a loved one in the Garden Room. $50 will purchase a gas card to help with travel to and from appointments or to visit a loved one. $100 will provide an hour of pain with a massage. $150 will cover the cost of a handmade quilt and $250 will help support a unique wish to create a lasting memory.
Please consider donating to this incredible cause in memory
of Zachary and Amanda.
