Story
My sister and I have decided to challenge ourselves to train and run a half marathon to raise money and awareness for our chosen charity, Lymphoma Action.
Our beautiful mother was diagnosed with Stage 2 Follicular Lymphoma back in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. She took the diagnosis in her stride, and remained to be the positive and strong woman we have always known her to be. Fast forward to today, she has remained at her stage 2 diagnosis without treatment!
Finding out someone we love has been diagnosed with cancer is unfortunately, familiar ground for us. Receiving this news never gets less impactful and has left us feeling a bit helpless, which is why we have decided to take on the challenge of running the Great North Run Half Marathon!
We have secured a dual running place through Lymphoma Action and would be hugely grateful for any donations, support...or training tips!
Lymphoma Action is the UK’s only charity dedicated to lymphoma, the fifth most common cancer. We’ve been providing in-depth, expert information and wide-ranging support for over 30 years, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma. Our work drives improvements in the diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare of lymphoma. We’re here for everyone affected by lymphoma. https://lymphoma-action.org.uk/
