Story
We're pleased to announce that this year, as a club, we have chosen Overgate Hospice as our charity of the year; a charity that means so much, to so many.
Over the last year fundraising has become more important than ever. During the pandemic, with store closures alone, the hospice has lost in the region of £270,000 of revenue, so we are happy to try and help in any way that we can.
With this announcement, we've also come up with a charity challenge!
The Land's End to John O'Groats virtual challenge! We've selected a route that is 1,083 miles (depending on who's doing directions..!)
We've also chosen to do it within 24 hours!
This will require a minimum of 41 club people running a marathon, or a maximum of 175 people running a 10k. In one 24 hour period.
It's going to require a massive team effort to complete the challenge, and in some cases asking people to run distances that they haven't run in a long time, or possibly ever before.
Injuries are not allowed, absentees are not allowed, we can't fall short. We have to reach our goal.
Can we do it? We shall see on Saturday 3rd April, starting at 10am.
