Training Update: So Far, So Good.
A lot of you have been enquiring about how my training is progressing, so I thought a short update would help to satisfy your inquisitive little minds. There is no denying that trying to combine a work/training/life balance is almost impossible. However, I have made training until the marathon a priority and it has even contributed to my sanity during recent weeks. I have successfully completed one of the hilliest half marathons in the UK in a rather surprising and respectable time. As I write this update, the tightness of my right quad is reminding me that I am still recovering from my ordeal. Since I've stepped my training up a notch I've sustained a fair few injuries and have become inseparable from my physio. I have also acquired some new best friends and running partners, deep freeze, deep heat and ibuprofen. Hopefully my injuries will remain of a minor nature and I'll be on form to complete my first ever marathon in a decent time. Fingers crossed. After the marathon? Never say never, but I'm a middle distance runner and I'm most comfortable splashing through mud on a cross country course.
