Linlithgow Fire Station fundraiser for Ukrainian firefighters, 9 April 2022
During the chaos of conflict, you will always find firefighters who stay within the war zone, not to engage in battle, but to protect lives and property. Fire-fighters in Ukraine are on the front line of this crisis. They need your help

Story

The firefighters of Linlithgow Community Fire Station will be raising funds to support our Ukrainian colleagues via FIRE AID. This will contribute to providing vital supplies and equipment that is desperately needed.

For our fundraiser, we will be completing as many laps of Linlithgow high street (west port to low port roundabouts) as possible throughout the day while wearing our full PPE and BA equipment.

Please see below for further details from FIRE AID.

During the chaos of conflict, you will always find firefighters who stay within the war zone, not to engage in battle, but to protect lives and property. Fire-fighters in Ukraine are currently on the front line of this crisis, trying to protect their communities in the most difficult of situations. However, they are in desperate need of equipment to better protect themselves and their communities. FIRE AID and International Development has been working in Ukraine since 2012 alongside the Ukrainian Emergency Services. During this time, we have delivered 11 modern fire appliances, over 4,000 sets of fire-fighting PPE and other essential firefighting equipment, which during 2020 alone rescued over 300 people. Volunteer fire fighters from the UK have built strong professional and personal relationships with their fellow fire-fighters and are working to respond to their requests for help during the current crisis. In response to the Ukrainian Emergency Services request for equipment FIRE AID plans to send fire appliances alongside fire-fighting PPE, medical supplies and other essential equipment to protect brave fire-fighters and other emergency services as they protect their communities and the civilian population in the most dangerous of situations.

100% of the money raised through this page will be spent on humanitarian aid.
