Story
Ant and Lindsey have set this page up to raise money for DBA uk .
Lindsey and all 3 of her children have Diamond Blackfan Anaemia and while Lindsey 39 survives with a low HB without treatment she lives not knowing if that will change at any point. Kian 17 and Brioni 14 require low dose steroids alternate days, Benjamin the youngest at just 5 years old required blood tranfusions every 3/4 weeks for 2 years and now survives on twice daily steroids again things can change at any point.
Ant has his own inspirational story and being a close family friend wanted to use his new found running skills to push himself to run 2 marathons the Brighton and London marathon just 2 weeks apart! his biggest challenge on his running journey to raise money for DBA uk.
Ant took up running around 4 years ago. After smoking for over 25 years he decided it was time to make a change in his life and that came in the form of running.
I owe a lot to running. I'm still not smoking and I'm healthier than I have ever been in my life. I've made some great friends on my running journey and I'm actually in my current employment as a result of running. Yep its safe to say running changed my life! Wish me luck and please donate anything you can. You can follow my journey and training just copy and paste the link

Diamond Blackfan Anaemia (DBA) is a rare bone marrow failure disorder, usually diagnosed before 12 months of age. DBA patients fail to produce red blood cells properly and may need treatment ranging from monthly blood transfusions to regular steroid treatment, and in some cases bone marrow transplant.
DBA can cause fatigue, poor growth, lack of appetite and a pale complexion. In about a half of cases patients also suffer associated congenital abnormalities. Some affected children are short for their age and may have delayed puberty. DBA patients also have a slightly elevated risk of certain types of cancer.
