Story
My sister Rhian Morris and her colleague Matt Proctor are the lead bereavement midwives at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals, and they have been working tirelessly to help transform and enhance the service provided to families that are unfortunate enough to experience baby loss.
I am so proud of my sister and her colleague for what they have achieved so far and wish to help support them with their vision for the future of how their service should be. The new bereavement suite, the “Serenity Suite” would be a self contained area dedicated to families that have lost a baby. It will give families time to spend with their baby, an opportunity to make memories that will have to last that family a lifetime. A chance to say goodbye. By having a tailor made suite especially for these families, it will make their stay as comfortable as possible, giving them the comfort of a home from home environment, as well as the privacy and protection away from the labour ward so they are not subjected to hearing other families cries of joy and euphoria.
My partner and I would like to help raise vital funds for this worthy cause as we know of friends, family members and colleagues that have suffered the devastation of baby loss. Andrew and I will be doing a skydive on 16th March 2022 - and will be doing a 15,000 ft jump at Hibaldstow……
Every penny that we will be fortunate enough to raised will all be invested straight into the maternity bereavement services, to continue to help families of Doncaster and Bassetlaw. Thank you.
