Story

On 5th June I'm jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet and hopefully landing in one piece in an airfield somewhere in Shropshire eeeek..... I've always fancied doing a skydive (well, kind of) so when my brother and sister in law arranged it I found myself agreeing.

I'm paying for the dive myself but it would be great if you could sponsor me. I'm raising funds for Birmingham Children's Hospital Heart Appeal who need £2m to replace the ageing cardiac facility with a new state-of-the-art one – and add a second cardiac theatre. This will be a new ‘hybrid’ cardiac theatre, the first of its kind at a UK children’s hospital. Here they’ll be able to perform surgical procedures and keyhole techniques simultaneously, offering exciting new horizons for the conditions treated. It will also reduce the number of operations that children may need – and their lengths of stay in hospital.

You know why this cause is so close to my heart. As dramatic as it sounds the Cardiac team at BCH gave Thomas his life - the new facility will be absolutely fantastic and help not only Thomas but all the other 10,000 children seen by the centre each year.

So please dig deep and donate now. Thanks!

Lindsey X
