Story
I'm doing the Thames Bridges Bike Ride for the 3rd time in 4 years, in order to raise money for The Stroke Association. My close friend, Anita, had a stroke at the age of 39, she hadn't fully recovered the first time I did the Ride, but I am pleased to say she has now made almost a full recovery (if the way she was knocking back the Tapas and Sangria yesterday was anything to go by!).
It was during the time she was ill, I discovered that Stroke is the 3rd biggest killer in the UK, but this is the Stroke Associations biggest fund raising event - they raise c 400k per annum from it. Compare this to the 60m raised by Race for Life each year and you will realise why they need our money!
I know it seems like one of these requests comes through every week, but if you understand why I want to raise money for the Stroke Association, or know someone who has been affected by a stroke, please sponsor me!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks very much.
