Story
Having lost my mom to cancer in October 2022 I wanted to help with fundraising for Princess Alice Hospice who were a great support to my mom and the rest of the family. Having only ever managed up to 10k in my runs this will be a challenge for me but for a very worthy cause. I am truly in awe of anyone working with families going through such a difficult time and very grateful these organisations exist. Thank you for your donation, some info below on what the money could go towards.
£16.98 could pay for...a child to attend one monthly session of our Dovetail group, which is for those who have recently been bereaved and offers emotional support.
£33.69 could pay for...one hour of care for a patient on our In-Patient
Unit, where we can address troublesome symptoms that can be difficult to treat at home.
£49.24 could pay for...four hours of complementary therapy. Reflexology, aromatherapy and massage sessions can help to ease stress, anxiety and pain.
£78.04 could pay for...a visit from a community based Princess Alice
Nurse at a patient’s home. Our nurses’ specialist advice and support help patients and their families and friends to cope with the physical,
emotional, social or practical difficulties that people face when they have a life limiting illness.
Care for families when they need it most. Princess Alice Hospice provides a comprehensive range of services that respond to the individual needs of patients and their families, so that they can live life to the full, create memories, share special moments and when the time comes, support them through, before and after the death of a loved one. It costs us £10 million each year to provide free, high quality specialist end of life care to tens of thousands of people with life threatening illnesses. We rely on wonderful supporters like you to help us to generate thousands of pounds through participating in Royal Parks Half Marathon.
