Goodness me...  there's less than 3 weeks to the Fairbridge 9 lakes in 9 hours challenge, a mountain bike ride, trek up Helvellyn and canoeing the length of Ullswater.  Fitness training is underway... although i've not been near a canoe in over 25 years!

Having been encouraged get involved in this event by a friend who is a volunteer with the Teesside branch, a group of mums were invited to learn a little more about the charity and who it supports. 

 

Fairbridge is an amazing Charity working with young people aged 13-25 that other organisations find difficulty to engage - giving them the self confidence and skills they need to turn their lives around.  Most face multiple issues ranging from school exclusion and homelessness to anti-social behaviour, crime and substance misuse.  They often lack family support and exist on the margins of society. 

 

When i look at my kids and see all that youth has to offer them it's hard to image others' devoid of  that vitatlity, optimism and enthusiasm.   

 

Fairbridge makes a huge difference, please dig deep and donate now...
