Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
MS4MS is a do-it-your-way approach to raising awareness and support for the Rocky Mountain MS Center. This summer I will hike several stretches of The Colorado Trail, on the East side of the Collegiate Loop near my home of Salida.
All of my hikes, 8 in total, will be day hikes of about 9-12 miles each. There will be early mornings and hiking in elevation. I will carry a pack and I hope to be joined by some family or friends. I am very excited for these hikes and to visit the mountains I see every day in the distance surrounding Salida.
For the past several months I have been working with a trainer and following an exercise and strengthening schedule on the elliptical, with weights and a step block as well as daily yoga sessions. Shea, our black lab family member, my yoga and exercise home coach, is encouraging me. Padraic, my love and Pack Coach is super helpful too and will be shuttling me to the start and end of the trails.
I had my latest MS infusion at the end of March, and I feel good these days. I am starting some longer practice hikes in our neighborhood, climbing to the top of Salida's S Mountain. Yesterday I logged 7 miles. I do get tired the next day, but feel exhilarated. Paddy keeps telling me I'm more of a Bad Ass than I give myself credit.
I will be making updates on my hiking progress on this site.
Thank you again for all of your love, and support.
