Story
Hello everyone,
This is to raise some money to help an organisation, which helps and assists women during a scary time, when they are at their most vulnerable.
A lot of people will have been touched by Breast Cancer. I know we have been as a family, and my mum beat this horrible disease in 2010, doing so with strength and humour. Some of things that makes Breast Cancer Care so important are the advice, support and information it provides, I used them a lot myself, the amount of info and detailed advice about tumours and chemotherapy is impressive and much needed in times of concern. They also promote Breast Awareness, which is so important for all women- go on ladies, have a good feel!
So, reading an update on Breast Cancer Care’s Facebook feed one day, I just wanted to do something for them and tie it in with my mission to get super fit before I turn 30 next year. This is how the idea for this triathlon came about;

It’s a sprint distance so 400m Swimming, 20km cycling and 5km Run (and then a party afterwards..) on June 10th 2012. I have been training 4 times a week for the last few months but now, with 3 months to go, I have a set training plan with 2 sessions a week in each sport and weight sessions with my fabulous Personal Trainer, Kim. Also I’m giving up drinking for 10 weeks before the event, which for those of you that know me well, is the biggest sign of my dedication to this event that I can give!
It is still a little cold in Munich to go swimming in the lakes but as soon as the sun has warmed the water, I shall be donning my wetsuit and jumping in (or wading in very slowly because of the cold) as often as possible. I’ve got a fantastic new Trek bike, which has already had its first crash... (grit on the road + quick swerve to avoid pedestrians not paying attention = bit of embarrassment and a few scratches!). Running is my least favourite activity and I am nervous about this part but at the moment, I’m managing 4k at 9km/h so I’m getting there. I have a time in mind to complete the whole thing in but I’m still a bit nervous about disclosing it yet- but I will keep you posted on this!
This is a big challenge for me, I haven't done any competitive sport for a long time (unless you count ten-pin bowling?!) but I know that I will complete this challenge with knowledge that I'm doing it to support a fantastic organisation.
Go on..... every £ or € you donate will help someone during their fight with this horrible disease, that’s got to be worth it.
Thanks so much for reading this,
Lindsay x
