Story

Thanks for clicking to come here and visit my page. It means a lot to me.

On Monday the 30th May 2011, I will be running (or walking, or possibly crawling the London Bupa 10k).

I am raising money to help the Meningitis Research Foundation.

My friends The Good Family - Linda & Paul lost their son, and Sam lost his brother to meningitis on Valentine's Day 2010. His loss has been devastating for his family, but, with your support, raising money for research will hopefully bring us a treatment, vaccine or early warning system in the not too distant future. Hopefully, one day, no-one will have to go through what Leo's family have.

You can read their own story here

As it happens, the run falls on the anniversary of my own Dad's death*, so I run wearing a T-shirt with pictures of them both.

(well, it did last year, this day the run is the day before)

Please help me raise money for Leo and for Dad. It means a lot.

Many thanks

Linzxxx

PS I realise, in my own inimitable fashion, that I've left it rather late to start fundraising, but that's all the more reason to please give some money today!

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
