A&E's and the pressures they are under are in the news at the moment. There are no beds, ambulances waiting for hours to handover patients, nurses and dr's run ragged etc. It is not just normal beds that are in demand. The intensive care beds are also under pressure. In the North West, a transport team has been set up to transfer critically ill children from Hospitals to Paediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs). The Transport Team includes a Doctor, a retrieval Nurse/s (with relevantPICU transport experience) and a dedicated Ambulance with driver. This service is also under pressure. The children's A&E's everywhere need toys, equipment, staff etc. We all want our children to be cared for in the best environment by the best teamI'm determined to beat my time this year ( I want to get below 40mins), get fitter in the process and raise lots of money
The second charity is a charity formed in memory of Scott Ward Schofield who suffered from a rare skin disorder Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). A genetic disorder where the sufferer's external and internal skin is so fragile that it blisters and peels off at the slightest touch, causing horrendous pain for them. https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/lindsayjohnston1
