Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year is my year of personal challenges and what better challenge than doing the Great North Run Half Marathon and hopefully raising at least £350 at the same time for a very worthy cause - the Alzheimer's Society.  I'm not a regular runner so it really will be a massive challenge for me, not just the race itself but the months of training on my own and in all weathers!

Why support the Alzheimer's Society?

One in three people over 65 will die with dementia

Over 700,000 people have dementia in the UK, and this figure is rising

The Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading support service and research charity for people with dementia and those that care for them.

I want to support the Alzheimer's Society as sadly nowadays, many of us have have experienced or seen the suffering that affects both the person with alzheimers and the family due to providing round the clock care with very little support.  Helping me hit my £500 target is one way you can help and give a little extra support through the valuable services Alzheimer's Society provides.

I need your support to hit my target, so please dig deep and donate now.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
