Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Greater Manchester Marathon in memory of my late Poppa, John Cullinan who sadly passed away in September 2011 after suffering with dementia for several years. This was a very stressful time for my whole family and the admiral nurses through Dementia UK provided specialist help with sensitivity & understanding. Unfortunately, due to a lack of funding they could only help us by phone because they do not have any admiral nurses in our area, therefore, they need funding to help them expand their services so they can provide support for all sufferers & their families.
Dementia is caused by symptoms that occur when the brain is affected by specific diseases and conditions. Symptoms of dementia include loss of memory, confusion and problems with speech and understanding. This disease is extremely stressful and painful for the sufferer and their family. Dementia UK promotes and develops Admiral Nursing which is a specialist nursing intervention focused on meeting the needs of carers and families of people with dementia. So please help me support this worthwhile cause by donating some money.
